And there were no less than 4 manuals to go with the thing. When I opened the box, I have to admit to being mildly overwhelmed at all the pieces. It was delivered to my home by the Tuesday after the race. So I ordered the CompuTrainer at the Seattle Marathon Expo on a Saturday, the day before the race.

I can use it for up to two hours so long as I have something to watch on TV to distract myself. The treadmill would likely have the same effect. But stick me in a stationary position for hours on end and I want to go out of my mind. I have no problem getting on my bike and riding for hours as long as I'm out-of-doors. Riding the trainer isn't particularly difficult from a physical standpoint, but I find it mind-numbingly boring from the mental standpoint. I bit the bullet this year, though, because I knew I was going to have to do some really long rides this winter and, since it was winter, many of those long rides were going to be indoor. Unfortunately today I have a quad strain and depending on how that goes Junes numbers may look less consistent due to missing data and the rest of this weeks training perhaps not happening.A rose, by any other name, would smell just as sweet. CRCA bike races, 10ks and half-marathons) and then in May I started doing longer distance races and took out a little intensity of my speed sessions to make sure I’m not overloaded. March and April were characterised with some more intense races (e.g. The reason for this gradual change is that I am gradually getting ready for Ironman Mont Tremblant.

  • Week of 8 th June looks like it’s missing some data so June is likely to be incorrect with respect to monthly TSS numbers.
  • During June you can see top intensity dropping a lot (week 1: 5min heart rate max = 172, week2: 166, week3 (so far): 159.).
  • has more TSS than 5x3min 120% as the latter has lots of recovery spinning in the session).
  • The reason for this is that there are less-intervals and more steady state training (i.e.
  • Despite top-level intensity decreasing from March->May, TSS went up substantially in May.
  • From March -> May, top level intensity was gradually reduced (i.e.
  • Number of hours training from March through May are very consistent.
  • Ignore the distance column because it will miss stuff like Computrainer sessions, but from the screenshot below we can ascertain: So, when we get into the habit of putting our stuff into TP we can get some good stats.
